PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible display device having high display quality and high yields.SOLUTION: A first organic resin layer 320a is formed over a first substrate. A first insulating film 321a is formed over the first organic resin layer. A first element layer 410 is formed over the first insulating film. A second organic resin layer 320b is formed over a second substrate. A second insulating film 321b is formed over the second organic resin layer; a second element layer 411 is formed over the second insulating film; the first substrate and the second substrate are bonded so that the first element layer and the second element layer are sealed. A first separation step, in which adhesion between the first organic resin layer and the first substrate is reduced to separate the first substrate, is performed. The first organic resin layer and a first flexible substrate 301 are bonded via a first bonding layer 318a. A second separation step, in which adhesion between the second organic resin layer and the second substrate is reduced to separate the second substrate, is performed.
