PURPOSE: To decrease environmental pollution by incorporating a specific cyan coupler into a silver halide emulsion layer, incorporating a specific compd. into a stabilizer substitutive for rinsing and processing the titled material by a counter current system having two tanks of baths.
CONSTITUTION: At least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer contains the cyan coupler expressed by, for example, formula I and the stabilizer substitutive for rinsing contains the compd. expressed by, for example, formula II in a 2.0×10-5W2.5×10-2mol range per l stabilizer. The stage for processing the material with the stabilizer substitutive for rinsing is executed by the counter current system having two tanks of baths. The amt. of the stabilizer substitutive for rinsing to be replenished is 2W50 times the carry over from the previous bath per unit area of the color photographic material to be processed. In formula I, Ar denotes a phenyl group, Y denotes the group to be eliminated when a dye is formed by coupling with the oxidant of an N-hydroxyalkyl substd.-p- phenylene diamine deriv. color developing agent, R denotes an acylamino group, anilino group or ureido group.
