Abstract:

To obtain a catalyst carrier excellent in performance suitable for polymerization of an α-olefin having at least more than one carbon atoms especially for propylene, imparting a polymer excellent in stereoregularity via a process reacting a halogenated organic compound with a specific pre-mixed compounds in the presence of an electron donor.

(i) A pre-mixed compounds comprising an alkylmagnesium, an aluminoxane and/or an aluminosiloxane and/or an alkylaluminum are reacted with a chlorinated organic compound in the presence of a first electron donor (if necessary a second electron donor may be included), and then (ii) the obtained product is activated using an activated electron donor in suspension state in an inactive solvent. The chlorinated organic compound is preferably mixed with at least a part of the first electron donor prior to the reaction of the step i.
