PURPOSE: To make a product movable being placed almost at the center of a lateral line conveyor by switching the longitudinal line conveying mode of a connecting part to a lateral line conveying mode when it is time that the product on the connecting part advances onto the centerline of the lateral line, and moving the product onto the lateral line.

CONSTITUTION: When a product is placed on a longitudinal line 3, the product moves into a connecting part 5 by the rotating roller 31 of the longitudinal line 3. A control part computes a parameter equivalent to the width of the product from the product passing time clocked by a product width detecting photoelectric switch 6 and computes the time of the product center advancing onto the centerline of a lateral line from the computed parameter and the product front end passing time clocked by a center stop photoelectric switch 7. When the time comes, a longitudinal line conveying mode is switched to a lateral line conveying mode, and the product is moved to a lateral line by a lateral line roller 52. The product can thereby be placed almost at the center on the lateral line 4.
