To provide a product design method which can reliably acquire the most appropriate product forms in consideration of process variations in worksites.
The product design method has a process to design products using general-purpose three-dimensional CAD software (three-dimensional CAD design 1); a process 3 to determine signal factors and characteristic values, which is a known parameter design 2, to satisfy user requests and functions; a process to determine control factors 4 and error factors 5 in consideration of process variations that occur from worksites; a process 7 to generate 3D data for each form according to a orthogonal table 6 and analyze it through general-purpose CAE software; a process to perform data analysis 8 based on analysis results to introduce the most appropriate and inappropriate conditions; and a process 9 to generate and analyze 3D data under the conditions and check reproducibility for characteristic values. The design method integrates three-dimensional CAD, parameter designs and general-purpose CAE analysis software to optimize product forms in consideration of process variations that occur from worksites.
