PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantaneously grasp a place where a merchandise management work such as the supplementation of merchandise is required, and to easily confirm whether or not the merchandise management work by a clerk is delayed.SOLUTION: A merchandise monitoring device includes: a state monitoring area setting part 35 for setting a state monitoring area on the video of a display area; a merchandise detection part 32 for detecting merchandise displayed in the state monitoring area on the basis of the video of the display area; a display state determination part 33 for determining the display state of the merchandise in the state monitoring area on the basis of the detection result of the merchandise detection part; and a display screen generation part 46 for generating a monitoring screen including a video area in which a display state display image indicating the display shortage state of the merchandise in the state monitoring area is superimposed on the video of the display area and a warning icon indicating the continuation of the display shortage state of the merchandise on the basis of the determination result of the display state determination part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
