Abstract:
To obtain the subject derivative useful as an antimicrobial agent in a high yield by reacting a specific compound with a specific carboxyamidine.
(A) A compound of formula I [R1 is a (substituted) phenyl; R2 is a (protected) sulfo or sulfonato; R3 is a (protected) carboxyl or carboxylato] or its salt is reacted with (B) benzotriazole-1-carboxyamidine or its salt or 1H-pyrazole-1-carboxyamidine or its salt to give the objective derivative of formula II [R4 is guanidino] such as (3R,5R,6R)-3-carboxy-6-[D-α-(2- fluoro-4-hydroxyphenyl)-α-sulfoacetamido]-3-(3-guanidino-2-oxoimidazolidin-1-yl)-7- oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane monosodium salt.
