Abstract:
PURPOSE: To profitably obtain a 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidylamine useful for production of light stabilizer for synthetic polymer which restrains generation of unreacted material and by-product and reduces use of catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: 2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidone is allowed to react with a mixture of (a) 80 to 100 wt.% compound of formura I and (b) 0 to 20 wt.% water at 50-100°C and in non-existence of a solvent, to separate and remove produced water and (b) by the distillation with 1.3-180 mbar at the same time. Then, objective compound is profitably obtained by allowing the resultant product to react with hydrogen in the presence of 0.001 to 0.04 wt.% Pd or Pt, or 0.1-30 wt.% Raney nickel based on the raw material. In the formura I, R1, R3 are H, CH3; R2 is a 2-12C alkylene, cyclohexylene, methylene-dicyclohexylene- dimethylene, 4-12C alkylene interrupted with 1-3 O or one or two CR4 (R4 is H, a 1-8C alkyl),etc.
