Abstract:

To provide a method for producing the subject known compound usable as an intermediate for producing germicidally active compounds.

The aimed 3,5-dimethylisoxazole-4-sulfonyl chloride of formulal is obtained in high yield through a new process comprising reaction of 3,5- dimethylisoxazole of formula II with chlorosulfonic acid followed by, additionally, reaction of the resulting reaction product with thionyl chloride at 60-110°C.
