Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a 4,4'-diamino-1,1'-dianthraquinonyl-3,3'-disulfonic acid having a low content of impurities or its salt without taking out a 1-amino-4- halogenoanthraquinone-2-sulfonate.
SOLUTION: In this method for producing a 4,4'-diamino-1,1'- dianthraquinonyl-3,3'-disulfonic acid or its salt by reacting a 1-amino-4- halogenoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid together with a copper catalyst in the presence of an aqueous medium, the reaction system is adjusted to pH2-5 with an alkali before the reaction, then a copper powder is added and the reaction is carried out. During or after the reaction, the reaction system is maintained at pH2-5 with an acid and the 4,4'-diamino-1,1'-dianthraquinonyl-3,3'-disulfonic acid or its salt is produced by one stage without taking out the 1-amino-4- halogenoanthraquinone-2-sulfonate.
