Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce a siliceous filter assistant having an excellent filter characteristic and a high specific surface area, especially excellent in acid resistance and without containing an org. matter and an iron content.
SOLUTION: In the method, an aqueous slurry containing a silica raw material and a lime raw material in a proportion of CaO/SiO2 mol. ratio of 0.3-1.2 is applied to a hydrothermal reaction by heating at 70-190°C, then acid is added to the slurry, the slurry is treated at 30-100°C and then a formed solid content is separated and recovered. An acid resistant siliceous filter assistant is produced by burning the obtained solid content at 200-1400°C as the case may be.
