Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the title high-molecular weight polymer having a low content of low molecular-weight substance by preparing an acrylic polymer solution having a specific polymer concentration and blending the polymer solution with a monomer used for the polymerization and a specific solvent. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic polymer solution having 10-50(wt.%) polymer concentration prepared by polymerization using a radical polymerization initiator is blended with a monomer used for the polymerization and a solvent (e.g. when acrylic polymer having high polarity is formed by the use of ethyl acrylate, lauryl peroxide is used as polymerization initiator and heptane is used as a solvent) to give the objective polymer having >=500,000 weight-average molecular weight and containing <=2wt.% low molecular-weight having <=10,000 weight-average molecular weight. Separating operation of the high-molecular weight polymer is preferably repeated twice or more times.
