Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin excellent in impact resistance, etc., by polymerizing a monomer mixture comprising acrylonitrile, an aromatic vinyl compound, and a (meth)acrylate ester in the presence of specified diene (co)polymer particles.

CONSTITUTION: A latex of a diene (co)polymer, average particle diameter ≤0.09μm, consisting of 50W100wt% conjugated diene monomer (e.g., butadiene) and 50W0wt% vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith (e.g., styrene) is prepared. Acrylonitrile resin for forming biaxially stretched blow-molded products is obtained by polymerizing 97W80pts.wt. monomer mixture consisting of 50W 85wt% acrylonitrile, 1W49wt% aromatic vinyl compound (e.g., styrene) and 1W 49wt% (meth)acrylate ester in the presence of 3W20pts.wt. latex of an average particle diameter of 0.1W0.23μm, obtained by coagulation of the above produced latex.
