Title:
PRODUCTION OF AL PLATED STAINLESS STEEL ELECTRIC RESISTANCE WELDED TUBE HAVING EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06330280
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce the electric resistance welded tube having the corrosion resistance in weld bead parts equiv. to or higher than the corrosion resistance of the plating layer of a base material by cutting the weld bead part under a reduced pressure and executing arc thermal spraying with an Al alloy wire as an electrode at the time of producing the electric resistance welded tube by using an Al plated stainless steel strip as a blank material.

CONSTITUTION: This electric resistance welded tube consisting of the Al plated stainless steel strip is produced by using the stainless steel strip plated with Al to have the improved corrosion resistance as the blank material, forming this steel strip to a tubular form by forming rolls, butting both ends against each other and subjecting the butt ends to electric resistance welding. The weld bead part of the electric resistance welded tube seamed by the welding is cut while this part is still in a high-temp. state. Arc welding is executed with the Al alloy wire as the electrode for thermal spraying in the reduced pressure atmosphere before the temp. falls down to ≤250°C to thermal-spray the Al alloy on the weld bead cut part at ≥10gm2 deposition. The Al plated stainless steel electric resistance welded tube formed with the thermally sprayed layer having the corrosion resistance equiv. to or higher than the corrosion resistance of the Al plated stainless steel which is the base material in the weld bead part is thus obtd.
