To provide a method for easily and stably controlling the reaction rate in hydroformylation reaction system.
This method is to produce aldehyde compounds by reacting an unsaturated compound with hydrogen and carbon monoxide in the presence of catalyst comprising at least rhodium and organic phosphate, wherein the reaction is conducted by keeping the change of the partial pressure of CO within the region of reaction conditions of substantially influencing no degree of conversion of the unsaturated compound. Namely, the reaction is carried out in the region where the rate of change (x) in the degree of conversion of the unsaturated compound, when changing the partial pressure of CO by 1 atm., is ≤±0.3% or the rate of change (y) in the degree of conversion, when changing the partial pressure of H2 supplied into the reaction system by 1 atm., satisfies y>x.
