PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing an alkoxy group-containing liquid silicone resin free from solvent, capable of readily carrying out control of a composition and viscosity of a silicone resin, alkoxy group content, etc.

CONSTITUTION: This method for producing an alkoxy group-containing liquid silicone resin free from solvent comprises reacting an alkoxysilane expressed by the formula, R1nSi(OR2)4-n [R1 is a monofunctional hydrocarbon residue which may be replaced with a halogen atom; R2 is a 1-4C alkyl; (n) is an integer of 0 or 2] or its partially hydrolyzed condensate or their mixture with water in an amount of about 0.2-0.5mol based on 1mol of alkoxy group contained in the raw material under acidic conditions and removing the resultant alcohol.
