Abstract:

To obtain an aluminum alkoxide having long-chain alkyl group, causing no side reaction as in the case of an aluminum chelate compound, and capable of controlling its reactivity, and also extremely hard to produce by conventional production method.

The objective aluminum alkoxide of the general formula Al(OR1)m(OR2)n [(m) is an integer of 0-2; (n) is an integer of 1-3; (m+n)=3] is obtained by reaction of an aluminum alkoxide of the general formula Al(OR1)3 (R1 is a 1-4C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group) with an alcohol of the general formula R2OH (R2 is a 6-30C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group, alkenyl group or alkylphenyl group, and may be a single composition or mixed composition thereof) to effect alcohol exchange.
