PURPOSE: To cast an ingot without fir-free structure in the whole face of the outer region even in the range of the ordinary casting velocity by containing Fe and Si at the prescribed ratio in aluminum alloy having specific composition.
CONSTITUTION: The ratio Fe and Si in the alloy consisting of 0.05W1.0% Fe, 0.05W1.0% Si, ≤1.5% Mg, ≤0.5% Cu, ≤0.3% Ti, ≤0.3% Cr, ≤0.3% Mn, remaining part of Al is as per the inequality. In case of larger value in this ratio, an inner region A is developed, and more addition of Mg is, more develop ment of the outer region B of the fir-tree structure without relation with Fe quantity is. In order to prevent the development of this structure, by satisfying the above ratio, even at 30W150mm/min the ordinary casting velocity, the ingot without development of the fir-tree structure is stably obtd.
