Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce an aluminum-electroplated steel sheet with improved appearance and corrosion resistance by using such a plating bath containing a molten mixture of aluminum halide and elements. CONSTITUTION:The plating bath used for aluminum electroplating of steel sheet contains a molten mixture of aluminum halide and alkylimidazolinium halide compd. In this process, the concn. of iron in the bath is specified to <=1000ppm, and the total concn. of copper, nickel and zinc to <=150ppm. Thereby, the obtd. aluminum electroplated steel sheet has excellent corrosion resistance and appearance and constant quality.
