Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a high purity anthraquinone compound free from impurities of a non-reacted substance, etc., on an industrial scale at a low cost by improving filterability. The anthraquinone compound: 1-amino-4-anilinoanthraquinone-2- sulfonic acid or its salt is useful as a blue acid dye.
CONSTITUTION: The reaction mixture of 1-amino-4-bromoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid or its salt with aniline in the presence of an acid binding agent and a copper catalyst is heated in the presence of a mineral acid before the 1-amino-4- anilinoanthraqinone-2-sulfonic acid is isolated.
