PURPOSE: To obtain the titled article outstanding in anti-fogging capability, durability, surface hardness, etc., by coating at least either surface of an article with, through spray coating, a composition comprising each specific component and also containing a film-forming component in a specified range of amount.

CONSTITUTION: The objective article can be obtained by coating at least either surface of an article with, through spray coating, a composition comprising (A) PVA (pref. with an average polymerization degree 250W3,000 and saponification degree ≥70mol%), (B) particulate silica with an average particle size ca. 5W200mμ (e.g. silica gel), (C) an organosilicon compound of formula R1R2 aSi(OR3)3-a and/or its hydrolyzate (R1 is 1W10C organic group; R2 is 1W6C hydrocarbon or halogenated hydrocarbon; R3 is 1W8C alkyl, alkoxyalkyl or acyl; a is 0 or 1) and (D) a solvent containing ≥20wt% of another solvent soluble for PVA, and further containing 0.1W20wt% of a film-forming component.

USE: Suitable for windowpanes in automobiles and streetcars.
