Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a dispersion having excellent long-term stability, etc., and useful as an adhesive having excellent initial bond strength by dispersing an NCO-terminated prepolymer containing hydrophilic group in water containing a phosphoric acid salt and reacting the prepolymer with a chain extender. CONSTITUTION:This dispersion can be produced by dispersing (A) an isocyanate- terminated prepolymer containing hydrophilic group in water containing (B) a phosphoric acid salt (preferably hexametaphosphate or tripolyphosphate) and optionally (C) a neutralizing agent (preferably a volatile base such as ammonia) and reacting the dispersion with (D) a chain extender (e.g. ethylenediamine) or by mixing the component A with water containing the component B, the component D and optionally the component C and carrying out the chain extension simultaneously with the dispersion in the aqueous medium. The component A is preferably produced by reacting a compound containing hydrophilic group (e.g. phenolsulfonic acid) with other active hydrogen-containing compound and a polyisocyanate at 30-100 deg.C at an NCO/(active H) equivalent ratio of (1.2-2)/1.
