Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aromatic olefin in an economically advantageous way by reaction between a haloaromatic compound and an olefin (Heck reaction) in the presence of a sufficiently active and selective Pd catalyst having high thermal stability even under long-term heat load during the reaction.
SOLUTION: This aromatic olefin is obtained by reaction of a haloaromatic compound with an olefin at 20-220 (pref. 100-160)°C in the presence of a catalytically active compound of formula I {X is a (multi)locus, (un)charged ligand bound to the central Pd atom; L is, as ligand, a monocarbene of formula II or formula III or a dicarbene of formula IV or formula V, similarly bound to the central atom [R1 to R6 are each a (sulfonated) 1-7C alkyl, (sulfonated) 5-18C alicyclic group (monocyclic or polycyclic), or the like; Y is a (un)saturated 1-4C alkylidene, alkylsilylene or the like]; A is a (multi)charged anionic chemical equivalent; (b) is 1-3; (a) is 1-4; b/c=0.1-4; b/n=0.1-6}.
