Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce barium carbonate having high bulk density and useful as starting material for optical glass.
CONSTITUTION: A barium salt and a carbonate are simultaneously added in the reaction temp. range of 40-90°C while regulating the molar ratio of Ba to CO3 to the range of 0.90-1.10 and the objective barium carbonate is crystallized.
