PURPOSE: To obtain a belt-like or strip-like thin leather material which has excellent flexibility because of deformability of its stamped part and can be used for an ornamental material by laminating a wood veneer onto a base material such as leather material, cutting it into belt-like plates and finally stamping the layer of the wood veneer under a specific condition.

CONSTITUTION: At first, a wood veneer is laminated onto a belt-like base material of a fabric (like) or leather (like) material and an obtained laminated body is cut into platelets of belt-like or strip-like shape. Then the objective material is obtained by stamping or cutting the layer of the wood veneer which is an ornamental layer perpendicularly at least to the longitudinal direction of the belt leaving a regular interval. One concrete example of the material is rectangular veneer platelets 6 forming a line without interval, which are obtained by dividing a veneer material 2 laminated with a base material by a multiple of parallel stamping processing part 5 extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the belt.
