Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing natural β-carotene of high purity in a high yield at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: This method for production of β-carotene is characteristically carried out by culturing a fine algae resistive to an active oxygen-generating agent and exhibiting β-carotene-productivity, producing and accumulating β-carotene and collecting it. Natural β-carotene of high purity excellent in safety can be produced in a high yield.
