Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder resin for base coat, excellent in adhesion, moisture resistance, heat stability, ultraviolet resistance, etc., even when coated with only two coats of a base coat and a clear coat by grafting a monomer having an ethylenic unsaturation and a glycidyl group onto a chlorinated polyolefin containing carboxylic groups.
SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by grafting 1-20wt.% monomer having an ethylenic unsaturation bond and a glycidyl group in the presence of a radical generator onto a chlorinated polyolefin containing carboxylic groups obtained by grafting an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an unsaturated acid anhydride onto a crystalline polypropylene or propylene/α-olefin copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000-70,000 and chlorinating the obtained graft copolymer and having a carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid anhydride content of 1-10wt.%.
