When a baron nitride molding is produced by a hot press molding method by which hexagonal boron nitride powder is filled into dies and fired under pressure in a uniaxial direction in a sintering furnace, the filled boron nitride powder is heated to 1,000-1,400°C under ≤2 Torr initial pressure of the atmosphere, molding pressure is raised to 100-250 kg/cm2 and the powder is kept under the constant pressure until it is heated to 1,800-2,200°C in an inert gaseous atmosphere.
