To provide a method for easily producing a bound braided sleeve or braided cord, and to obtain a bound braided sleeve or braided cord by the above method.

This method comprises the following practice: a braid is made using fibers prepared by blending braided yarns with thermofusible man-made fibers with its melting temperature lower than that of the braided yarns, and the resultant braid is heated successively to a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the above man-made fibers but lower than that of the braided yarns while applying pressure to the braid totally to effect melting the above man-made fibers and spreading the thus melted man-made fibers into the interstices among the braided yarns and thus mutually binding the whole,system as a unit.
