Abstract:
PURPOSE: To industrially and efficiently produce canthaxanthin at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: This method for producing canthaxanthin comprises culturing a microorganism, belonging to the genus Phaffia and having the ability to produce the canthaxanthin in a culture medium, producing and accumulating the canthaxanthin in the resultant culture and collecting the prepared canthaxanthin from the culture.
