Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a carbonate compound in good yield without carrying out washing operation after reaction in a method for producing the carbonate compound by reaction of a compound having an OH group on an.aromatic ring with a dicarbonate compound.
CONSTITUTION: A compound having OH group or SH group bound to an aromatic ring, e.g. phenol is made to react with a dicarbonate of the formula (R1 is alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl), e.g. a dialkyldicarbonate at 30-70°C in the absence of an amine or an organic solvent.
