Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a cellulose sheet free from pinhole and having excellent mechanical strength by coating a cellulosic nonwoven fabric with a cellulose dispersion having particle diameter falling within a specific range.
CONSTITUTION: A cellulose sheet free from through-holes and having excellent water-resistance can be produced by coating a cellulosic nonwoven fabric with a liquid dispersion of cellulosic material fine particles having a maximum particle diameter of essentially ≤20μm and a cumulative volume ratio of ≥25% corresponding to a particle diameter of ≥3μm and treating the coated sheet e.g. with 65% sulfuric acid. The cellulosic material having fine particle size is e.g. wood pulp, refined linter and cotton fiber.
