PURPOSE: To provide a production process for cellulosic fibers of improved fiber-making stability by improving the spinning nozzles being used in formation of fibers from a cellulosic solution.
CONSTITUTION: In a process for forming cellulosic fibers where a cellulose composition is prepared by dissolving cellulose in a mixed solvent of N- methylmorpholine N-oxide and another solvent which is homogeneously miscible with N-methylmorpholine N-oxide, but does not dissolve cellulose and extruded out through the spinning nozzle having at least one orifice into air and the extruded filament-like flow of cellulose solution is brought into contact with the coagulation solution, as the flow is under drafting and the coagulated fiber is taken out of the coagulation bath, the ratio of the orifice length (L) to the orifice diameter (D) is set higher than 10, while the nozzle is made of ceramic.
