Abstract:
PURPOSE: Cephalosporin compounds or their salts are produced using the culture medium, cells or their processed product of a bacterium producing D-aminoacid oxidase, which belongs to Candida.
CONSTITUTION: The culture medium of a bacterium producing D-aminoacid oxidase, which belongs to Candida, e.g., Candida humicola (IFO 0753), or its cells or its treated product is made to act on a compound of formula II (R1 is H, methoxy; X is acetoxy, hydroxy, H, carbamoyloxy, 1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl, 1H-1,3,4,-triazol- 5-yl, 1H-1,2,3-triazol-5-yl) or its salt to give the cepalosporin compound of formula I (R1 and X are the same as above; R3 is -CO-COOH, -COOH).
