PURPOSE: To easily produce a ceramic molding with high accuracy at a low cost by forming a ceramic coating layer via a metal coating layer by low-temp. plasma thermal spraying on the outside surface of a mold for a molding having a low m.p. and coating a metal thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The mold 11 for the molding having a desired molding shape is formed of a low melting stock such as plastics. The 1st metal coating layer 12 is coated on the outside surface of such mold 11. The ceramic coating layer 13 is formed by the low-pressure plasma thermal spraying on the surface thereof. The 2nd metal coating layer 14 is further coated thereon to obtain a master mold 15 for the molding. The master mold 15 is heated to melt and remove the mold 11, by which a laminated molding 16 consisting of the two metal coating layers 12, 14 and the ceramic coating layer 13 is obtd. After the molding 16 is subjected to a HIP treatment at and under a high temp. and high pressure, the molding is immersed in an acidic soln. tank 17 to melt away the metal coating layers 12, 14. The ceramic molding 18 having about 0.2% porosity is thereby obtd.
