Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coated paper for photogravure printing, excellent in operability, having smoothness and cushion property suitable for photogravure printing, almost free from error dot and excellent in dot reproducibility.
SOLUTION: In a method for producing coated paper for photogravure printing, comprising applying a coating solution containing pigment and adhesive to raw paper, broad-leaved tree pulp containing a broadleaved tree pulp having 0.15-0.35L/D of lumen width to fiber width and other pulp are beaten and both pulps are compounded so that the content of broad-leaved tree pulp having 0.15-0.35 L/D is 5-20wt.% based on total pulp weight to provide pulp having 150-300 beaten pulp freeness of total pulp and the coating solution is applied to raw paper obtained by subjecting the resultant pulp to papermaking and the coated paper is dried and subjected to calendering.
