PURPOSE: To obtain a composite fused material not causing foaming and blackening, free from fuzz and exhibiting strong binding force by heating a mixed and collected body of a glass filament and/or a ceramic filament having a composition different from soldering glass with a soldering glass filament to fuse the mixed and collected body integrally.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed and collected body obtained by collecting glass filament and/or a ceramic filament having a composition different from soldering glass and having softening point which is ≥100°C higher than that of soldering glass and a soldering glass filament in a volume ratio of (2:8) to (9:1) is passed through a heating zone 5 using a guide roll 3 and a tension roll 4 and heated at a temperature higher than the softening point of the soldering glass to fuse and integrate the mixed and collected body and cut into a prescribed length by a cutter 6 to provide the objective composite fused material 7. The composite fused material is as necessary, heated and fused in a heating zone 5 and integrally formed into a prescribed thickness by a pressing means before cooling and solidifying.
