Title:
PRODUCTION OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR COMPOUND SUPERCONDUCTIVE WIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61195738
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of working by casting continuously a metal A for a super conductor in a molten state into a molten metal C for matrix kept at the temp. lower than m. p. of said metal and casting continuously the bars of the metal A and the metal C in succession thereto.

CONSTITUTION: Nb 13 as the metal A is put into a 1st melting furnace 11 and Cu 14 as the metal C for matrix is put into a 2nd melting furnace 12. A 1st casting mold 18 is provided in the bottom of the furnace 11 and the mold 18 is dipped into the molten Cu 14 of the furnace 12. A 2nd casting mold 19 is disposed in the bottom of the furnace 12 and a drawing down base 21 is fitted to the lower part thereof. The Nb 13 solidifies in the hole 17 of the mold 18 and is unitized to drawing down bars 22. The molten Cu 14 entering the mold 19 solidifies therein and is united to the base 21. The composite material having the plural solidified Nb bars and the Cu layer solidified around the same is produced in one stage and therefore the cost of working is reduced.
