Abstract:

To provide a method for producing the composite semipermeable membrane exhibiting effective high separation performance by using an inexpensive solvent easy to handle without destroying the ozone layer.

This composite semipermeable membrane having an extremely thin membrane is formed as follows. Namely, an aq. soln. of a water-soluble multifunctional reagent is applied on the surface of a porous supporting membrane, a soln. of a multifunctional reagent reacting with the water-soluble multifunctional reagent in an org. solvent immiscible with water is applied, and then the composite semipermeable membrane is radiation-heated or convectionally heated from the rear of the coated surface to remove the org. solvent.
