PURPOSE: To provide the process for production which makes the strength after plating soft in order to enhance the workability of a hot dip Al coated steel wire.
CONSTITUTION: This process for producing the continuously cast soft steel wire for Al plating having the excellent workability consists in using a wire having the steel components which contain ≤0.06% C, ≤0.03% Si, 0.1 to 0.5% Mn, ≤0.003% Al, ≤0.002% N, 0.002 to 0.004% Ti, and 0.010 to 0.017% O, and consist of the balance unavoidable impurities, drawing this wire to a steel wire of a required size, and continuously heating the steel wire for 5 to 10 seconds at 800 to 900°C in a stage before the Al plating treatment, then subjecting the wire to the Al plating and providing ≤35kgf/mm2 strength after the Al plating to this steel wire.
