To produce a hot-rolled steel strip and a cold-rolled steel strip excellent in surface quality and also, workability from a Cr-Ni base stainless steel thin cast slab produced with a continuous casting method.
The Cr-Ni base stainless steel is cast into the thin cast slab S having ≤10mm slab thickness with a twin roll type continuous caster 1 and rolling reduction is applied at 1-15% draft to the thin cast slab S with a light rolling reducing rolling mill 6. Successively, rolling is executed at 20-35% draft with a hot-rolling mill 7 and further, heat treatment for holding at the temp. range of 1150-950°C for 50-110sec is executed with a heat treatment furnace 8, and successively, this strip is coiled at the temp. range of ≤600°C with a coiler 9. This hot-rolled steel strip is made to cold-rolled steel strip under the conventional cold-rolling condition.
