Title:
PRODUCTION OF CROSSLINKED POLYOLEFIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3171697
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject polymer having extremely industrial value and excellent solvent resistance by bringing a copolymer of an alkenylsilane and an olefin into contact with a catalyst in the presence of an alkylene oxide.
CONSTITUTION: A copolymer of an alkenylsilane and an olefin is brought into contact with a catalyst (e.g. triphenylphosphine complex of rhodium chloride) in the presence of an alkylene oxide (e.g. ethylene oxide or cyclohexylene oxide) to give the objective polymer. Vinylsilane or allylsilane may be used as the alkenylsilane and ethylene or propylene may be cited as the olefin. The amount of the alkylene oxide used is preferably 0.1-10 pts. based on 100 pts.wt. copolymer.
