Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a crucible having a long useful time at high temp. and fit for a system for melting and caking low-level radioactive miscellaneous solid waste.
CONSTITUTION: A proper amt. of one or more kinds of binders selected from among petroleum and coal fractions, an org. synthetic resin, clay and ceramics is added to a starting material blend of 50-90wt.% highly aluminous material with 8-40wt.% graphite-based carbonaceous material and ≤7wt.% silicon carbide- based material, and they are kneaded, molded and fired.
