PURPOSE: To produce a decorative plate excellent in wear resistance, by undercoating the decorative surface of a decorative plywood with paint in which the limited amount of mineral power is mixed, and then topcoating said surface with paint in which the mineral powder is not mixed.

CONSTITUTION: The decorative surface of a decorative plate material 3 is undercoated 2 with paint in which 1W4wt% pref. 1.5W3.5%, mineral powder such as green carbon, aluminium carbide or diamond is mixed. When the undercoat paint layer 2 where the mineral powder 1 floats on its surface is under a condition set to touch, the surface is topcoated 4 with paint not-contg. mineral powder to form a protective coating film on the decorative surface. In this way, the decorative plate having a surface paint film having sufficient transparency and excellent wear-resistance is obtained. Phenol resin paint or the like may be used as said paint, and its application amount as each of the topcoat and the undercoat is at about 20W150g/m2, respectively. The particle size of the mineral powder is preferably at about 20W80μ.
