Abstract:
PURPOSE: The cultivation of microorganism in Micromonospora gives demyssinosyl-mycinamicin IV showing antibiotic activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as mycoplasma.
CONSTITUTION: A microorganism in Micromonospora, capable of producing demyssinosyl-mycinamycin IV, e.g., Micromonospora sp. A11725 (FERM-4488) is inoculated in an enriched medium and cultured aerobically at 20W37°C, preferably 26W30°C for 4W5 days and the demyssinosyl-mycinamicin of the formula is collected from the culture mixture.
