To stably produce a deoxidizer which can not be detected by a metal detector without changes in the quality by using a stirring mixer having a sealed-type mixing tank equipped with a stirring means having rotation- revolution type stirring axis in the production process of a deoxidizer essentially comprising glycerin.
In the production of deoxidizer, of deoxidizer component 2 comprising a mixture of glycerin, a transition metal compd., phenols or quinones and water is reserved in a reservoir 1, while an insoluble granular solid as a carrier supplied in a mixing tank 5 in stirred by a rotation-revolution type screw axis 4. At the same time, the deoxidizer component 2 is sprayed from the reservoir 1 through a shower head 6 to impregnated and deposit on the insoluble granular solid. Then a powder of alkaline earth metal hydroxide is added and sufficiently mixed by stirring. Thereby, the powder of alkaline earth metal hydroxide is uniformly deposited and dispersed on the surface of the granular carrier, and the obtd. granular deoxidizer has uniform performance.
