PURPOSE: To obtain soft, highly aesthetic designed fabric by spouting a high- pressure water jet on the surface of knit fabric comprising short fibers to fibrillate and/or fluff the surface of the fabric.

CONSTITUTION: Plain fabric woven by using spun yarns comprising short fibers such as polynosic fibers is put to a specified dyeing process followed by spouting high-pressure water jet at a pressure of 50-150 (pref. 120-150)kg/cm2 on the back surface followed by the surface of the plain fabric on a wire mesh movable in the longer direction to uniformly fibrillate and/or fluff the entire surface of the fabric, thus obtaining the objective designed fabric with ombre-tone grade.
