PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound in high yield and in high selectivity and to eliminate a catalyst recovery process without eluting a catalyst in a reaction solution by reacting an alkylene carbonate with an alcohol by using a specific solid catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is obtained by reacting an alkylene carbonate (e.g. ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate) with an alcohol (preferably methanol or ethanol) in the presence of zinc oxide preferably at 100-200°C reaction temperature under reaction pressure of atmospheric pressure-20kg/cm2G for 0.5-5 reaction hours. The molar ratio of the alcohol based on the alkylene carbonate is preferably 0.2-20. The amount of the catalyst is preferably 0.01-1mol based on 1mol of the alkylene carbonate.
