PURPOSE: To add Young's modulus to the characteristics of a diaphragm mainly composed of flaky mica similar to that of a metallic diaphragm, and to increase the high frequency reproducing threshold frequency by impregnating thermosetting resin into the flaky mica, main component, and pressing and heating the materials to form the diaphragm with a prescribed shape.
CONSTITUTION: A fiber material and flaky mica are mixed and dispersed and the dispersed materials are molded into a prescribed shape to produce an original diaphragm. The original diaphragm is pressed and heated under the conditions of 4∼5.5kg/cm2 at 150∼180°C and dried out preparatorily. The preparatorily dried diaphragm is dipped into thermosetting resin solution to impregnate the resin and then pressed and heated to mold under the conditions of higher temperature and higher pressure than the preparatory conditions, so that a speaker diaphragm with a prescribed shape can be formed. Consequently, the high frequency reproducing threshold frequency of the diaphragm is increased, the Young's modulus and internal loss are controlled by adjusting the mixing ratio of the fiber and the flaky mica and the molding is also simplified.
