Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a double spiral body being effective to an automobile muffler without fixing it to an inner tube and to precisely and inexpensively produce it. SOLUTION: An engaging pin 7 installed on a spiral projection part 6 of a die 4 is hung to a through-hole of an end part of a blank 1 formed in a long bar with a lateral U shaped cross-section. The blank 1 is wound on the spiral projection part 6 of the die 4 with the opening side of the lateral U shaped cross-section of the blank 1 inside and a double spiral body is formed. An outer die 13 holes the blank 1 with the die 4 and assists the forming. After forming, the die 4 is reversed. The engaging pin 7 is retreated to the inner side and the article is released.
